Outlook 2003 for Windows

Outlook 2003 is one of many POP3/IMAP email clients available for the Windows OS. The basic setup instruction to work

with email here are listed for you to use this email client.

 

Setting up an account:

 

From the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts... This will open the E-mail Accounts box. You will be presented with several screens.

 

Screen 1: Email Accounts

Add a new e-mail account: Choose

Click Next

 

Screen 2: Server Type

POP3: Choose

Click Next

 

Screen 3: Internet E-mail Settings (POP3)

User Information

Your Name: yoursite.com

E-mail Address: you@yoursite.com

 

Server Information

Incoming mail server (POP3): yoursite.com

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): yoursite.com

 

Logon Information

Username: you

Password: Your Password

Remember Password: Checked

 

Click More Settings

Note: This will open an Internet E-mail Settings window. This will allow you to apply Server Authentication. Choose the Outgoing Server tab and place a check next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and leave as "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server".

 

If you wish to leave a copy of your email on the server, Choose the Advanced tab and place a check next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server".

Click OK.

Click Next.

Click Finished.
