Aliases are alternative addresses for your existing mailboxes. Here you will learn how to:
Adding an alias:
There is two methods of adding aliases to mailboxes
- Creating a new email alias from scratch (very similar to creating a new email account)

- From the Quick Access section of the control panel click on the Email icon.
- Scroll down the page and then click on the "New E-mail" link, this will open the new e-mail creation page.
- At the top of this page under "Add new E-mail", enter the name of the mailbox alias in the field labelled "E-mail Address". This is what your mailbox alias will be called.
- Scroll down to the section labelled "MAILBOX" and clear the "Password" field.
- Scroll further down to the section labelled "MAIL ALIAS" and tick the box beside this label. This tells the system that you want to create a mail alias.
- Click on an existing mailbox listed in the left hand side text area.
- Click the add button between the two text areas. The mailbox you selected will then appear in the text area on the right hand side.

- Click submit to save the changes to the mailbox settings.
- You will be brought back to the Mail Info screen, at the bottom of this page you will see that under "Resources included" an alias icon indicating that this mailbox has an alias resource included.
Also under the "Properties" section you will see a "Store to: mailbox name", this indicates which mailbox is the alias.

- By adding an existing mailbox as an alias to another existing mailbox
- From the Quick Access section of the control panel click on the Email icon.
- Scroll down the page and click on an existing mailbox. This will display the options associated with this mailbox.
- Scroll down to the section labelled "MAILBOX" and clear the "Password" field.
- Scroll further down to the section labelled "MAIL ALIAS" and tick the box beside this label. This tells the system that you want to create a mail alias.
- Click on an existing mailbox listed in the left hand side text area as shown in the above screenshot.
- Click the add button between the two text areas. The mailbox you selected will then appear in the text area on the right hand side.
- Click submit to save the changes to the mailbox settings.
Removing Aliases
To remove an alias:
Click on the email address which has the alias, go to the "Mailbox" section and clear the password field of stars. This will ensure that your mailbox password does not change.
Scroll down to the "Mail Alias" section
In the box on the right hand side, click on the mailbox that is currently aliasing, then click the "delete" button in the middle of the two boxes. Then click on the submit button at the end of this page to save the mail box changes.
