Uploading with Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver 4



1. Open Dreamweaver 2. Choose New Site... from the current sites pop-up menu in the Site window.

3. In the Site Name field, enter a name for your site i.e. my_site. In the Local Root Folder box, click the folder icon and navigate your way to the files and folders on your PC/Mac and click "Select". If you have no currently defined folder, create a local site before proceeding. (Local Root means the place on the PC/Mac where web files and documents are stored or where you wish to store new web files and documents.)


4. Ensure HTTP Address holds the default value "http://"

4. In the Category list at the left, click Remote Info. Choose the FTP option as your access (pull-down menu)

Under FTP Host fill in yourdomainname.com For http://www.unb.ca the Host Directory is /www/WWW/netsite-pages (Host Directory is the folder where your website files are stored on the web server) Under Login fill in your FTP username Under Password fill in your FTP password and make sure they are correct.

5. Check off "Save" in the right-hand column. (please write down your username and password and put in a safe place in case you need to refer to it later).

6. Press OK.

7. You can expect this screen to appear next. Click "OK"
