Password protecting a page
To start SiteStudio:
1. Login to your control panel (found at https://cp.host.ie)
2. Click on the SiteStudio icon in the quick access section.
The first page you are brought to is the site map page.
Firstly you need to create a user or a group.
To do this:
Click on the "Site Settings" button on the top of the site map page.
On the "Edit settings for your entire web site"
Click on the "Edit site info" link at the very bottom of the page.
On the next page you can add single users as well as groups.
To add either click on the add icon beside the option.
For example we will add a single user.
On the next page give the user
username
password
full name
by filling in the required fields.
When finished click on the NEXT button.
Repeat the process to add more users or groups and when your done click NEXT.
Back at the page "Edit settings for your entire web site" we will now password protect
a page. To do so we need to select a page to protect.
So click on the "Site Map" button at the top of this page.
A download page is a great example of a type of page you might want to protect.
Click on the settings button to the right of tha page.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
And beside SECURE choose "YES" from the drop down menu.
You will automatically be presented with a list of users, select the ones
whom you wish to grant access and click NEXT
You will be then brought back to the preview page of the page you just password protected.
Now when visitors attempts to access this page they will be prompted for a valid
username and password to gain access.
