Outlook 2007 for Windows

Outlook 2007 is one of many POP3/IMAP email clients available for the Windows OS. The basic setup instruction to work with email here are listed for you to use this email client.

Setting up an account

From the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts... This will open the E-mail Accounts box. You will be presented with several screens.

It will show the Email tab - you will see existing Email accounts here

Click on the New Button

you see the Choose Email Service screen

pick option : Internet Exchange, POP, IMAP

click Next >

You will see the Auto-account setup, tick the box manual setup

click Next >

Choose Email Service screen

select Internet Mail

click Next >

Add new Internet Email setting

User Informations:

Enter your name 
email address: you@yoursomain.com


Server Information:

Account Type: POP3
incomming mail server : mail.yoursite.com
outgoing mail server (SMTP) : mail.yoursite.com

Login Information:

Username: you@yoursomain.com
Password:
remember password: ticked
leave the secure password authentication(SPA): unticked

Click More Settings

Note: This will open an Internet E-mail Settings window. This will allow you to apply Server Authentication. Choose the Outgoing Server tab and place a check next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and leave as "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server".

If you wish to leave a copy of your email on the server, Choose the Advanced tab and place a check next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server".

 Click OK.
 Click Next.
 Click Finished.
