Introduction to your reseller account
From Novara Support Knowledgebase
Thank you for signing up as a hosting reseller with Novara. Please find below an introduction to how your hosting accounts works, answers to FAQs and links to tutorials on using your new account.
Introduction to plans:
Your reseller account works by signing domains up to pre-existing plans. A plan sets out the resources available to a domain and their storage limits etc. There are two default plans in your account, windows and linux which are based on the packages we offer to customers. You can edit these or add your own entirely new ones depending on your needs and those of your customers.
Do my customers have their own control panels?
Each domain in your account has its own control panel so it is up to you whether you give your client access to this or not. Adding new email addresses and uploading content is done from within the domains individual control panel.
Please note that if your client contacts us looking for log in details they will be directed back to you.
How do I get started?

And follow the steps outlined.
How can I transfer names to Novara?
You can find details of how to transfer the registration of each extension type here:
http://support.novara.ie/info/index.php/How_to_transfer_to_Novara
To point the domain to the site you have uploaded to your hosting account we will need to change the name servers associated with the name to our own which are
Ns1.novara.ie
Ns2.novara.ie
Ns3.novara.ie
You can find an FAQ on name servers here:
http://support.novara.ie/info/index.php/Nameservers_FAQ_for_resellers
If you have registered a name somewhere else but wish to point towards the site on your hosting account you just need to supply the other company with our nameservers and they will put them in place.
What are the various storage limits on my account?
Depending on which account you have purchased you will have been given various totals for limits on your account. You can set whatever limits you want for customers within your account but the total being used cannot exceed the total for your hosting account. If this is near being reached you will receive automatic notification by email.
The most important limits are:
Summary traffic: This is all of the web traffic to and from a website. So people viewing the site, submitting information to it, downloading files and email to and from the site will all count towards this figure.
Disk space quota: This is the space for your customers website and files stored on their account. You will not have to increase this very often as most sites will not go over the default quotas on our plans. Mail stored on our servers also counts towards this figure.
Mailbox quota: If your clients store mail on our mail server instead of downloading it using a mail client such as outlook then it will start to build up if old mails are not deleted. Mailboxes have a default quota of 50mb. You can increase this for the customer or else encourage them to delete mail themselves or download it to their own pc.
To change storage limits for your accounts, follow the steps in this tutorial:
Can I move existing hosting accounts with Novara into my reseller account?
We can normally do this with no interruption or downtime. You just need to contact our support department requesting the move. Please note that if the existing account belongs to a separate client you will need to get them to contact us authorising it. Also if there is a change of server involved there may be a 24 hour delay so we can set up the DNS to minimise disruption.
Can I find more information on how my control panel works?
