First you will need to transfer the registration:

After putting the order through on register.ie:

1. Send an email and fax to the company who originally registered the domain name for you. In this email instruct the company to change the IPS tag to TUCOWS-CA. This will normally take a couple of days but will then transfer over.

2. If the transfer does not take place the request to transfer to the TUCOWS-CA tag should be sent directly to Nominet (who supervise the .co.uk domain name). This request should be written on the headed paper of the owner of the domain. Send a fax to 00 44 1865 332288 for the attention of Customer Support. Include your previous correspondence with the company who originally registered the domain for you. For further information please see http://www.nominet.org.uk/howto/change-isp.html

Once this is done follow the steps below to transfer your website:

1) When you purchase hosting from our selves you should receive an email with the log in details of your hosting account.

2) Get a copy of your site either from a backup you have at home or by downloading a copy from your current hosts.

3) Using the login details you have recieved from us you can upload your site either by using an FTP program such as dreamweaver or by logging into your hosting account and using the file manager.

4) Give our technicians the IP address your mailserver is on. As you are changing from the other companies nameservers pointing to this IP address to our nameservers pointing to this IP address there will be no interruption to your mail.

5) Make sure the site you want to appear is now uploaded to our servers and fully ready to go.

6) As we are authoritative for the domain we can change to our own nameservers at this stage. notify our technicians when you are ready to switch over.

7) Allow 24 -48 hours for propogation.

8) Your website and email are fully transferred.
