Getting started with Site Studio

To start SiteStudio:

1 login to your control panel (found at https://cp.host.ie)

2 Click on the SiteStudio icon in the quick access section.

Site studio provides you with a powerful tool that allows you to build

sites without any knowledge of HTML.

Select a category that best describes your site and then click NEXT.

Here we will be selecting the Small Business category.

Select your layout for the site. You will see a preview when you highlight it.

Note that most of the layouts available have two styles - new and old

To choose a colour scheme for your site just choose one from the list in the colour scheme

menu. By default the colour scheme is carried through for all you pages that you create. This can be disabled if you wish by unticking the box under the preview area.

When you are ready to move on click the NEXT button

On the next page you can fill in information about your firm in the fields provided.

You can upload a company image to be displayed if you wish (ensure its of the format .jpg or .gif) or you can use one of the preloaded clip art images.

The uploaded images may look distorted but dont worry, it is only resized to fit the preview

pane on this page.

Site Studio will automatically insert META_TAGS in to your site code, so that

you will get a better ranking from search engines.

The next step is to add a web page. This page is where you will come if you ever wish

to add another web page to the site. All the pages are pre-formatted based on the purpose and

function of the page.

Choose the type of page you want to create and click on the Next button.

Eg choose "Welcome Page". The welcome page is the first page your visitors will see when

they come to your page.

Specify the page title and enter your page content in the fields provided.

You can also upload images to this page by clicking on the select image and uploading the image into the gallery.

When you are finished composing your welcome page content text click on the next button at the bottom of the page to proceed.

A preview of the page then appears. THis is how the page is going to be viewed by visitors to your website.

To continue adding pages to your site. Click on the add page icon at the top of the current page.

Continue with this process to create your site. Experiment with the different types of pages available to you.
