FINDING POTENTIAL LINK PARTNERS

Having other sites linking to you is an important part of getting a good ranking in Google searches. It can be difficult to find potential partners so we have created the guide below to help you with this.

Step one:

Enter Search phrases associated with your site into google. You can use our Keyword suggestion tool in your ncm to come up with these phrases and variations on them.

Step two:

Search through the results for organisations or sites in your area but not in competition with you. While competitors will not want to link to your site it is mutually beneficial for other sites to do so.

As an example, if you run a guesthouse in Cork you can organise links with the following:

Bord Failte or other Irish tourism sites. (Search for tourism Ireland)

sites promoting Cork specifically (Search for tourism Cork)

Accommodation directories (Search for accommodation cork, accommodation Ireland, Guesthouse Cork, Guesthouse Ireland etc.)

As well as increasing the number of links to your site, somebody browsing the directory could find your site through it.

Each area of business is a little different so think laterally. Sites which link to you don’t have to come up in the same searches as your site for the link to help your rankings.

Step three:

Enter a high ranking competitors domain name in Google in the format www.example.com

This will bring up a list of sites which link to your competitor and may also be interested in linking to you.

Link partner software.

There is also link partner software available for finding potential link partners. However even with good software it can be very difficult to block competitors sites or irrelevant sites from coming up in the searches so it usually ends up being as quick and effective to do the searches yourself through Google.
