1. Do I need a modification letter to manage my .ie domain. Answer: We are now in a position to make most changes you might require without needing written authorisation. However certain situations may require this.

2. What is the text of the Modification/Deletion letter?

To carry out certain changes for the details of a .ie we need a standard Modification Request letter on the exact letterhead of the company/organisation owning this domain, signed by the person who is the Administrative Contact as recorded by the IEDR (please see http://www.domainregistry.ie to find out who is listed as the admin contact for your domain name). The text of this letter should be exactly as follows;

"As the current admin contact for the domain name (insert the domain name here) I hereby authorise the modification of my domain by Register.ie." This letter should be faxed to us at locall 1890 923105 (outside Ireland 00 353 1 858 3095).

3. I have just set up in business and I don't have headed paper to write the Modification/Deletion Letter on?

Don't worry. You can do up a headed paper using Word or another word processor and that will suffice. All you need to do is include the organisation/company name and contact details in this heading.

4. The admin contact on my domain name is wrong.

To change the Admin contact on a domain name, please go to www.whoislookup.ie . Enter your domain name to find out who is currently listed as the admin contact for the domain. If the person listed no longer works for your company/association, this record will have to be changed on the IEDRs database. To do this please fax a letter on the headed paper of the owner of the domain name stating the following,

"I hearby certify that (old admin contact) is no longer with this company/association. I, (new admin contact name), will now serve as the admin contact for this domain name. I hearby authorise the modification/deletion of my domain name by Register.ie. This letter must be hand signed."

Please Fax this letter to locall 1890 923105 (outside Ireland 00 353 1 858 3095).
