Creating a PgSQL Database


To create a PgSQL database follow the instructions below.


1. Login to your control panel. [located at https://cp.host.ie ].


Click on the PgSQL icon in the quick access section

2. On the next screen click on the add icon from the add user table

Enter a database username and password as required and hit

submit.

Note the username always begins with a prefix of the user name

of your control panel. This is to prevent one or more users having the same database name.

H-Sphere will notify that you have successfullly completed the command.

To add a new database click on the Add database Add icon

as shown in the above screenshot.

In the relevant fields enter your new databases name,

followed by a short description and then choose the

user who has access to the database. (you will be

able to edit their privilages later)

When finished click on the "Submit" button at the bottom.

H-Sphere will then notify you if you database creation

was successfull or not.

You will see you new database listed in the middle of

the screen as below.

To edit the database click on the edit icon beside the database

as shown in the above screen shot.

This will open up the PGSQL database management page as shown below:

this page give lots of useful information about your database.

Both the database name, host name and port number are useful for remotely

connecting to the database or this info may be used in some

of your website scripts.

the phpPGAdmin is a built in phpPgAdmin control panel for

configuring your database on a finer level. click on the link

to start up the control panel. You will be then prompted for

your username and password of a database user (which you created

earlier).

You can change the discription of the database as needed by

clicking on the edit icon in the description row.
