Creating / Editing an MSSQL database

Creating a MSSQL database

  • Note that this is only for windows hosting accounts.*

Login to your control panel [ https://cp.host.ie ]

Click on the MSSQL Server icon in the quick access section.

Firstly you need to create a new database user before creating the database itself.

1. Click on the add icon beside "Add new MS SQL login"

2. In the relevant fields enter a login name

Note that this is prefixed with your control panel username

Enter your password twice as shown below.

Click submit when your are finished.

H-Sphere will notify when the action has been completed.

Now that you have created a new login, you have to create as database so the login can be used. to do this click on the Add icon beside Add database

On the next page give the database a name and also choose which user can access it, by selecting one from the drop down list. When you are finished click submit to continue.

Once the database has been created you will then see a page listing the databases you currently have and also a list of users. All these can be modified / or deleted by click on the appropriate icon beside the relevant database and database user.

To edit / modify an existing databases click on the edit icon in its row. This will open a page from which you can add users to the database.

To add a user to the databases click on the add icon as shown above.

Enter the database username into the relevant field and choose from the drop down list the MSSQL login and click add when you are finished.

H-Sphere will notify you if the action was successful or not.

Now that the database and database users are in place, MSSQL manager must be enabled for your domain.
