I Want to Change the Ownership Details

Because the Irish Domain Registry awards domains names to the legal entity that applies for them it is not possible to simply change the ownership details. Please note that this procedure cannot be used to "sell" .ie domain names as the Irish Domain Registry will only award the .ie to the same organisation post the deletion so be careful!

The procedure to correct ownership details is as follows;

1. Apply for the domain name with the new owner details in the order form on Register.ie As the old domain is going to be deleted this is now a new registration so the full application fee will apply. Send us all the required supporting documentation for the application under the new owner details.

2. Send a deletion request for the domain name to support@register.ie. Then send a fax on the headed paper of the company/individual stating:

"As admin contact for the domain name (insert domain name here) I hereby authorise the deletion of my domain name by Register.ie."

3. We will then apply for the domain name under the new ownership details before submitting the deletion request to ensure that you cannot lose your domain name.
